Today we were in Ithaca on a small beach to the south of the island. We enjoyed swimming in crystal clear waters and relaxing on the white pebbles. Walking around the beach we saw a lot of rubbish that shouldn't be there... It took as less that 20 minutes to collect them in the bag that we always carry with us in order to move them to the nearest bin. Of course the problem of the millions of tons of trash that end up on beaches around the world every year is not solved by picking up a trash bag but it is certainly better to leave the beach cleaner than you found it!
